Luke Williams clinched the 2017 Britcover National Formula Ford 1600 Championship with Avon Tyres at Anglesey over the weekend of 23rd/24th September and secured his place in the Mazda Road to Indy USF2000 $200k Scholarship Shootout. As he represents the BRSCC in the second running of the unique event which takes place on 9th & 10th December, Luke will be competing against 19 of the top young drivers from around the Globe in the Valley of the Sun at the Bondurant Racing School near Phoenix, Arizona. Last year’s BRSCC National Champion, Niall Murray, was one of the stars of the 2016 Shootout making it into the final stage of the gruel two day trial. Murray leaves big shoes to fill however Luke is surely up to the task given his fantastic form in this year’s hotly contested National series behind the wheel of his Firman RFR16. This year the championship reached levels of competitiveness not seen for many seasons and it is testament to Luke’s skills that he was the man to win not only the title but also the Triple Crown mini-series. We are delighted to be sending such a high calibre driver to the Shootout!
